Gentleman Joe Whiteley – President 01/01/20
The California Desperados still continue to grow since relocating to the Acton area.
We still remain the largest clubs in the Nation. I Thank ALL of YOU- the Board of Directors,
The Members, The Volunteers and our Sponsors that make this club so successful!
Your renewal is due once again this time of year. The prices remain the same
as last year but you must renew before Feb.15th to take advantage of the early renewal discount
thru CMSA. Remember too, by enlisting new riders you can receive a certificate for one half off
one match fee for every rider or family who joins CMSA thru the Desperados. Be sure to fill out
the “Referred by” section on the membership form.
Changes for 2020
There were just a few rule changes at the National Advisory Board meeting this year.
All riders must wear a hat when entering the arena. Pro class may wear a Sponsorship vest
while competing in the Pro Class only.
This year the Desperados will host 12 WPQ matches including the California State Championships
and Southern Pacific Regional’s.
Buckles & Jackpots
This year we will offer cash paybacks at most of our WPQ matches. They consist of 50% payback
of entry fee with 90% for Class Wins and 10% to Overall positions.
Paybacks will be first place
for every three riders. Buckles will be offered to Class winners and can turn in their winnings
towards a buckle purchase. This is the rider’s choice!
Mounted Rifle Shooting
We’ll continue to offer rifle competition at almost all our matches this year. A rule change for rifles
this year will remain the same will including the use of revolver-type rifles and carbines.
Check the rulebook you get when you renew your membership for all the details.
